241.8 MPH in a Toyota Supra.
Think it's real? It is. Real scary, too...and they really did it this weekend. Congrats to the crew (Boost Logic) that built this 240+ monster.

2008-10-01: Winged Visitor on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
This little bugger has been hanging out with me in the mornings while i take my coffee on the deck.After three days of thinking "I should photograph that..." I finally acted.
Hopefully he'll be around a little while longer.

Mark's New DAC on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
my podcasting partner !ramz just acquired this little gem, and we put it to good use with our first Pigskin Radio football "show" recorded outside on the patio...or is it a porch?where once there were three big honkin' mics, a 4-channel mixer, and a laptop (and my analog newspaper in some cases)...there is now this simple, genius DAC from Roland.

Live in Concert from All Songs Considered : NPR Music
Live Music on NPRMost of you know this already, because I'm usually the last to "discover" something on my own...but NPR has some great live music on their podcast, "All Songs Considered." I ran across a nice recording of Radiohead from the Santa Barbara Bowl, their last US tour stop.
Without question, my favorite band...known for being an incredible live performance to behold...playing in one of the venues I'd most like to visit...it makes me just so damned happysad to listen to this recording.
There's plenty of good stuff from all kinds of musical artists in the podcast series. The Raconteurs, Fleet Foxes, The Ting Tings, Wilco, Nada Surf, even some tracks from various artists at SXSW.
I'm diggin' it.

Overseas - Pirate Movie Production
Pirate Movie Production: Overseas (2008)I do love me some snowboard films. I saw this trailer at the end of the Shralp! Snow #105 podcast, and I see some really hi-def, super slo-mo stuff...maybe they've started shooting with a Red One camera? Good grief, those things make my snowboard pants tight.

Rainy Mondays Are the Worst (or Maybe the Best?)Work slows down to a crawl, or in some cases shifts into reverse. Personally, I'd prefer to stay in bed all day.
This weather makes some people depressed, but not me. It's relaxing. It puts me in a sedate state, content to sit and think about anything or nothing at all. I might stare off into the hazy distance, or perhaps focus in on raindrops clinging to the leaves of the tree.
Either direction, I'm feeling slow. And low.
(...that is the tem-po.)

Radiohead - House of Cards
A video "shot" without cameras.
Even if they never made a video, they would still be my favorite band on the planet. There's such surreal ambiance to so much of what they do, and it speaks to me. It's nice to see it translated so succinctly to a visual medium.
